NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (N.S.S.)

Balugaon College N.S.S Unit has got its victory by conquering the heart of the villagers, for which it has been awarded prizes and certificates as the Best unit for the session 1989-90 and as the Best Programme officer for the session 1996-97 in Utkal University. Two units (one male and one female) have been functioning in our college with strength of 50+50=100 volunteers. The units aim at promoting the personality through community service. Students interested to be enrolled in NSS shall have to apply in the prescribed form available with the programme officers. The enrollment is open to the disciplined students having faith in the scheme. Enrolled volunteers shall have the opportunity to attend normal camps on the Sunday/Holidays and special camps of 10days as and when necessary. Selection/dismissal of volunteers is the complete discretion of the programme officer/Principal.

RED CROSS SOCIETY

The Red Cross Society of Balugaon College has been started with the approval of `Indian Red Cross Society' Orissa state branch in order to inculcate the sprit of "Service

to man kind is service to God" in the mind of young students of our college. It carries the motto of "Health, Service, and Friendship".The noble aim of the society is to render service to the affected and down trodden of the whole world.

Enrollment begins after the admission is over. Students have to apply in prescribed Performa available with the Red Cross office-in-charge. Blood donation, creation of blood bank at Balugaon PHC through the mobilization of local people, rendering services to the needy people in different festivals, organizing seminars and symposium on different topics are the aims of society.

The SOCIAL SERVICE GUILD

Applicants for SSG aid should be submitted to the principal in the prescribed form ot be obtained from the college office. Applicants may be required to appear at an interview for the purpose. Poverty and merit are taken into consideration for these awards.

The aims and objectives are to render all types of social service as follows

a) To grant stipends to the needy deserving students.

b) To From a volunteer corps in the town for rendering help to the sick, destitute and flood-stricken people.

c) To arrange lectures by eminent persons for the benefit of the students' community.

d) To educate people in rural areas regarding the prevention of AIDS, Hepatitis, Polio, Cholera, Small pox, Malaria and such epidemics
